Today Dr. Norbert Reithofer Chairman of the Executive Board of BMW AG, announced today that the world premiere of the BMW 5-Series Hybrid to be held at the Shanghai auto show. This means that a hybrid BMW 5 Series will be unveiled in mid-April. The new plug-in hybrid based on the long wheelbase of the BMW 5 Series (LWB), which is currently selling in China. Reithofer said Dr. says this is their "e-car in China China."

Unfortunately, BMW does not release other details of the hybrid 5-series, leaving some speculation. As for the internal combustion engine is gasoline, the hybrid BMW 5 Series sport could drive a 3.0-liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder power

just over 300 hp. This device operates with an electric motor, but it is too early to speculate on that.
