2015 BMW 7 Series

Top Cars | 2015 BMW 7 Series | The next generation 2015 BMW 7 Series will shed some weight when compared to the current F01/F02 models. The UK magazine also quotes development boss Herbert Diess who calls the new 7 Series the most technically advanced car in BMW’s history. In the past we reported that G11 7 Series’ structure would probably feature a mix of materials, with the carbon fiber parts being added to the aluminum and steel used in today’s car.

The roof, bonnet and bootlid are most likely to be made from CFRP. The magazine comes to confirm our own findings as well. Furthermore, sources say that the weight savings will be significant for the base 740i model, dramatically below the 1900kg kerb weight and and potentially even the 1670kg of the current entry-level 5 Series. Without a doubt that if these figures are achieved, the new 7 Series will be one of the most dynamic luxury sedans in the segment, but we believe the numbers are slightly ambitious.
