2010 Kia Forte Koup

KIA FORTE KOUP

We had at our disposal a ton of copies of the new 2010 Kia Forte Koup, or if you prefer about 40 models available as food to automotive journalists at this event.

Thus, all versions were represented as follows:

EX: 2.0-liter engine, CVVT 156 hp with 5-speed manual transmission.
EX: 2.0-liter engine, CVVT 156 hp with 4-speed automatic transmission.

SX: 2.4-liter engine, CVVT 173 hp with 6-speed manual transmission.
SX: 2.4-liter engine, CVVT 173 hp with 5-speed automatic transmission.

On the road, these two versions are very different target audiences that could be termed opposite and thats fine so be it.

For its part, the Forte Koup EX is for customers who are looking to cut a very nice, well balanced and that will get them everywhere, in peace. Its behavior is very healthy, but are not sport-far from it. It is also the most comfortable version. Acceleration with the automatic transmission are somewhat fair, but more interesting with the manual transmission.

As for the SX version, it is clear that it is for a younger clientele, looking for a sporty coupe seductive. It is slightly less comfortable, and this discomfort will be felt more by the rear seat occupants. Its handling is much more interesting and more sports. Fuel consumption side, we should expect at a rate that is less generous, compared to that offered by the entry-level model.

In both cases, we have two cars with the sound is impeccable, and can even teach a lesson to more expensive cars. The interior design with sporty, can accommodate four passengers, including two front seats comfortable and generous, but two rear seats very low and rather narrow. This beautiful coupe that has a chalet for both low-slung back, has the effect of minimizing the visibility, especially when moving in reverse.
